What is Volunteering?

Volunteering is much more than a simple act of giving, it is the decision to take action together, to offer where there is need, and to bring about change around us. Becoming a volunteer means choosing to be part of a community that shares values such as solidarity, empathy, and selflessness.

At its core, volunteering is an experience that transforms us and brings us closer. From active participation in initiatives, supporting social groups, and empowering student actions, to small everyday acts of kindness. Every gesture of giving multiplies the good and builds a more caring future.

At the Volunteer and Student Activities Coordination Office of AUTh, we believe that everyone can make a difference. Volunteering has no prerequisites and does not demand perfection. It simply requires goodwill and the desire to share something of ourselves with those around us. Together, we can achieve what none of us could accomplish alone.
